The set of works by Vasco Colombo, presented in the current exhibition of Tinta nos Nervos, originated in the environment created in the book "The Cape of 2.102.400 km", published by Levoir, in 2025 . The drawings on display, freed from the narrative imperative that founded the published collection - that of building a story, without words, in twenty-five images - expanded their meanings. Made in ink on paper, without a sketch or pre-defined strict idea, with different dimensions to experience the support, they are arranged in a heteroclite way, in an immersive visual device, designed specifically for space. In it, each image assumes, simultaneously, an autonomous reading and a place in a potentially narrative constellation, of fragments and small fictions, which it is up to the visitor-spectator to broker and give meaning.
Here, on the wall, as on paper, the line is direct, without pencil notes or redrawing, so that the gesture does not lose freshness and intention. What is born originates in the accumulation of the scratch, the stain, in the enjoyment of the composition stripped to invade the void.
The title of the exhibition reinforces the idea of a balance, of a pause made on the path taken, a report of observation of this tangle of cables and wires glimpsed in the support of the days and the imagined micro plots, as if life (and the history of images) were a kind of pulsating capillary network of riddles that are essential to record.
