Process

Opening up imaginary spaces within two dimensions, encasing life's fragility in an image, from observing nature. Like a naturalist of old, I travel and observe, make drawings and photographs and, later, at the studio, I synthetize and take a step back from reality to bring it closer to abstraction. Through the practice of lithography, I mix feeling and gesture; the image thar precedes it is a mental one, filled to the brim with life, and with the will to express a feeling. The first steps of my work entails what I call a visual collecting of images. As I do it, I perform the organization of a spontaneous drawing on the stone, with no retouching. The white areas and the shadows open themselves up to the depth and th sweetness of an unknown river.


I have in me an immense archive of images from the numerous travels across the Atlantic by boat. Images I then employ in my creations. Everything that has to do with water movements is fascinating. From that point I question the limits and the encounters of two matters: the aquatic and the geologic.


I create lithographys through which I can express my own relationship with nature. Receptive to imagination, I compose with lines, and colors, and matters. I try to open abstract, moving spaces in harmony.

“The imaginary people of the forest”

These litographs are directly inspited by my walks in nature. There, my imagination roams and finds human shapes within the forest, like the old tales I used to hear when I was a child. Here, the vegetable and the human clasp hands to create a series of portraits.
