Laurent Moreau
(French – Vitré , 1982)
“Le Goût de la pluie” exhbition:
September 7th to October 15th 2024
The central core of the exhibitionin Tinta nos Nervos is composed of the original plates of Le Goût de la pluie (“The taste of rain”). It is shown alongside a set of materials that reveal the full the preparatory work of an album, from the graphic construction of the structure, with scattered pencil drawings, character studies, the chromatic plane with experimentation with a rich palette, handling the book itself, finished and printed, available to readers of all ages. Laurent Moreau's work is characterized by great clarity of images, partly due to the use, as pictorial material, of gouache, dyeing dense, standing out in relation to the uniform background of the paper. The line that draws landscapes or figures is continuous, undulating, seductive and soft, and the stain of color, when it gives rise to what is seen, maintains the same intensity luminous and signifying reading, with a broad gesture that does not get lost in details, rather, it rescues the essentiality of what you want to convey.
Laurent Moreau will be in Portugal, for the first time, from the 26th of September for several meetings around his work, organized by French Institute in Portugal and Tinta nos Nervos.
