Granddaughter of the bastard and disinherited son of a wealthy rural family in the Douro. In 1990 he won the gold medal in the drawing competition under the theme "fight against pollution". He then discovered his passion for macabre literature, having written and drawn, at the age of 11, his first illustrated short story: "The curse of Monte da Mina". It is in Poland that marks the beginning of a new cycle in her work with Ed Gar, dedicating many years of her life to the study of his representation through engraving in the most diverse techniques and with whom she maintains an open relationship (for life). Ana Torrie (b.1982, Porto) She did her academic training in the city of Porto, at the Faculty of Fine Arts. He graduated in Sculpture, took a Master's degree in Drawing and Engraving and a postgraduate degree in engraving studies. Between 2007-2008 he participated in the Erasmus program and studied at the Akademia Sztuk Pieknych im. Jana Matejki (Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts), Krakow (Poland). During her master's degree, she was linked to the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro where she studied engraving between 2012-2013. She is the founder of the engraving studio Guilhotina.
Nowadays, constrained by great financial difficulties, she divides herself into works of the most varied kinds: retouching old photographs of bourgeois families in Porto, living statue and catsitting.
