Berck.Gébé.
100 pages, black-and-white; carton cover. In French. 22.50 x 28.80 cm. Les Cahiers Dessinées.
Georges "Gébé" Blondeaux, a pillar of the French satirical illustrated press, especially with Hara-Kirie and heiress Charlie Hedbo, and author of comics of magnificent graphic inventability, political awareness and prescience (Une Plume pour Clovis, L'An 01), is a name that is still relatively unknown. It is volumes like this that allow its rediscovery. In the present case, it brings together all the stories published throughout Hara-Kiri with this strange little character, protagonist of several absurd and stilted situations, which are a scathing mirror of human society.
