Waltz, André Ruivo's new book, published by Lata Edições with the Inspector Cheese Adventures seal and the support of the Nouvelle Librairie Française, induces the reader to a dancing foot through the lullaby of drawn bodies, which surrender to melody, to everyday life, in tune. Two, and two, always a couple in relation, in each shot, even with the emptiness, in a self-absorbed, invisible, curled up, very concentrated, passionate, connecting men and women, old and children, in daily dances, as time goes by, recalling the words of Jacques Brel: «Au premier temps de la valse, toute seule tu souris déjà...». Valsa is also a book made for two, where Ana Teresa Ascension's graphic design reinforces the sense of the drawings and the care with the printed word places her between the metronome and visual poetry. The A6 format dismantles the precariousness of an apparent pocket notebook, due to the full chromaticism of the sheets, the texture of the sewing the line and the very glossy covers in which, in the others, it is possible to see our reflection. No masks.
