Imagination. By Pedro Monteiro.
Portuguese language, Ed. António Castilho, 2022.
Few will know or be familiar with the work of Pedro Monteiro (1954-2007), whose training in Communication Design from the Lisbon School of Fine Arts led him to teaching, on the one hand, and to creative work, often shared in the studio with friends and colleagues of his generation, such as António Folgado, José Mouga, José-Alberto Marques, among others. And it was exactly one of them, António Castilho, who, after his death, early and without descendants, took the initiative to edit this book by an unpublished artist called Imagination, a kind of visual and poetic alphabet in which calligraphy and the meaning of words are mixed with truth. Imagination is brought to the public in the practically original format, consisting of 23 cards in a box purposely designed to contain them. The edition is limited to 250 copies.
