Maria José Oliveira's work is silent and time-consuming like the making of drawing that sustains all her production, whether on paper, fabric, clay or pigment. The Geometry of Time was born from an exhibition of the same name presented at the Carmona e Costa Foundation in 2007, itself unfolding around the concept and object of the book in which image and writing generated a single body to leaf through. The introductory text is by the philosopher and essayist José Gil, who has long followed the artist's work.
