Particularly inventive book and difficult to categorize. On the one hand, it is a fanfiction project around the film The Fly, by David Cronenberg. On the other hand, Gedankenexperiment is scientifically anchored in the studies of microbiology and genetics. What would a fly-human hybrid truly look like? What questions would such an existence raise for the problem of the post-human and the so-called crisis of the Anthropocene? An artist's book too, and a beautiful object, the Portuguese artist invites less to a hasty and closed reading of these themes than to a thorough and repeated discovery.
